Chocolate Orange Hazelnut Tart

Cuts 12 slices

- Ten MaxiNutrition hazelnut nougat protein bars blended to a powder 
- 2 tbsp butter, melted 
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 cup ground almonds 
- 2 tbsp cacao or MaxiNutrition MaxWhey Chocolate Protein Powder
- Pinch salt

For the filling:
- 250ml cream of choice (we used oat) 
- 300g dark chocolate, finely chopped 
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp cacao
- Zest one orange
- Orange extract, to taste
- Pinch salt

To make the base, mix the blended protein bars with the remaining ingredients until the mix sticks together. Press into the base of a loose-bottomed tart tin, working the mix up the sides too. Place in the fridge to chill and firm up.

Make the filling by gently heating the cream and chocolate in a Bain Marie (the gentler and slower, the better, or else the mixture may split), stirring smooth. Stir the remaining ingredients in, then pour over the tart base. Chill overnight or until set, then decorate and slice!
