understand its use

When your aim is to lose fat and build muscle, you may follow a strict calorie-deficit diet and training plan. When cutting calories, over time, your body is exposed to a catabolic state which can lead to a loss of muscle mass.

Branched-chain amino acids are not something your body can produce on its own naturally, so we seek the three essential amino acids, leucine, isoleucine and valine from our diet. BCAA supplements are available in many formats: two commonly used are capsules and BCAA powder – both of which can be taken multiple times daily as part of your training programme.

Amino acid boost

Supplementing BCAAs before your workout can help to provide your body with the opportunity to make the most out of your workout every time that your train.

Muscle breakdown

When you’re on a calorie-deficit diet, over time your body tends to go into a catabolic state and craves the energy that it’s missing. As well as your short-term glycogen and fat stores, your body turns to your existing muscle for fuel by breaking down muscle-protein for energy. Maintaining your protein levels helps to maintain and build muscle.
