It's time for a cut - putting on muscle whilst losing unwanted body fat. Losing weight is sticking to a strict regime of eating a calorie restricted diet. 

For sustainable long term weight loss, combining exercise will further the calorie restriction by using stored energy.

This may include catabolism or the breakdown of muscle tissue, something that you want to avoid if you are 'cutting'. The cut is about creating a defined physique.
